Did my 2.0 upgrade today and got everything setup without any major problems. Was very impressed with the update - even more than I expected just from the feature list. The amp's delay capabilities are greatly expanded with the addition of the SDE-3000 (a modulated digital rack delay from the 80's), and the ability to add a second delay by setting up a delay+reverb. You can even switch that on and off by choosing for each of the green/red/amber reverb settings whether you want it to be just reverb, delay, or both. There's a cool website for U2 fans that's been around for awhile ().
It's incredibly detailed and offers parameters like the exact millisecond setting for each delay, whether to use modulation, and the percentage of mix. But I never had a real use for the site because my most of the sub-$200 delay pedals (including popular ones like the DD-7 and TC Flashback) don't have a digital display to enter in precise timings. I was able to enter all the settings like I was filling in a spreadsheet, and the result was an awesome U2 patch as good or better as anything I'd conjured up in the past.
Having 8 presets is awesome because I like quite a few of the Sneaky Amps and I'm unlikely to continue plugging it into my computer to constantly change things. Now I have a selection of 2 or 3 different clean tones, and I can map different effects to their corresponding slots.
Finally, the universal patch EQ all but eliminates the problem of particular amp models sounding too thin, dark, etc. The power to tune in those models was probably already in there, but the new EQ option for the overall patch is a great tool for fine-tuning a patch. The upgrade on FCB allows you to edit more easily among other cool settings. For instance, I bought the librarian software and was able to edit patches really fast. Using the beagle bone method, you can store patches into the beagle by calling some cc's. In each bank on FCB, I would put the store function on patch switch 10.
I dedicated switches 1 to 4 to store these to in each bank. And, then on switch 7,8,9 put the effects toggle. Hello, dear Katana users! And since GA-FC controller won't work with Katana 50, I have a tricky question for you: Is there a way to split the 2-channel system into a 4-channels (with 4 DPDT switches, instead of 2) foot switch in order to automatically change between Bank A and Bank B as soon as I hit the Channels 1 and 2 related to each Bank?
